PITTSTON, PA (wvia) – All That Jazz with George Graham will feature performances from the 2009 Scranton Jazz Festival, beginning Tuesday, Feb. 16 from 7 to 8 p.m. and continuing for 8 weeknights on WVIA-FM at 89.9FM and 89.7FM in Williamsport or online.
The on-air schedule for this presentation is as follows: Tuesday, Feb. 16 Marko Marcinko’s Latin Jazz Quintet and the Ellington Legacy featuring Edward Kennedy Ellington II; Wednesday. Feb. 17 Organic Vibe Trio with Dave Samuels and Nilson Mata & Brazilian Voyage; Thursday, Feb. 18 Funk Filharmonik and Rev. Bill Carter & the Presbybop Quartet; Friday, Feb. 19 the Phil Markowitz Trio and the Keystone Jazz Institute Student Ensemble; Monday, Feb. 22 the Chris Tarry Group and highlights from the Keystone Jazz Institute Student Ensemble; Tuesday, Feb. 23 Absolute Trio with Bob Dorough, and highlights from the Presbybop Quartet Wednesday, Feb. 24 Festival Big Band; Thursday, Feb. 25 more music from previously featured performances.
In 2009, the Scranton Jazz Festival celebrated its fifth anniversary at the historic Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel in downtown Scranton, PA. Since its premiere, the festival has drawn audiences from the entire Mid-Atlantic region, resulting in tremendous notoriety and exposure to the international jazz world.
