Jim Buckley and Friends
Jim Buckley, Saxophonist, has been involved with the music scene for over 40 years. A graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, and Marywood University, Jim has been involved with the Scranton Jazz Festival since it’s very beginning. Jim has played with the likes of George Young, Lew DelGatto, Marko Marcinko, and Tony Bennett and has toured Europe several times with The Phil Woods Big Band. As an educator, Jim has been on staff with the Keystone Summer Jazz Camp for the past 8 years. Retiring from the Scranton School District in 2010, after 30 years as a music educator, Jim still has a full schedule of private students and appears regularly in the area with some of the best jazz talent. The “Jim Buckley Jazz Trio” consists of Jim Tigue on piano and vocals and Joe Cole on Bass. Jim is recognized as one of the best this area has to offer and a mainstay in the Jazz community with many credits to his name. Joe remains a popular figure and is known from his various works with many of the fine groups he lends his talents too. Wearing many “musical hats” Joe is also on the Music Faculty at Marywood University.
