Born in Lexington, Kentucky, in 1974, Zach Brock was introduced to music at an early age by his parents, who were also musicians, and started performing publically by the age of six. He left Lexington in 1992 to pursue his musical training in Chicago. One of the most virtuosic and emotive voices of contemporary jazz violin, Zach Brock has followed a path that embraces not only jazz, but also classical, world, and popular music. From critical acclaim as a bandleader to international exposure in collaborations with Stanley Clarke, Grazyna Auguscik, and Frank Vignola, Zach continues to gain admiration from both jazz purists and music enthusiasts alike. In 2000, Brock received the National Endowment for the Humanities award and The Smithsonian Institutional grant to fund a lecture and concert illuminating early earl American jazz violinists and their impact on the jazz culture in Paris, France during the ‘20s and ‘30s. Zach Brock also performs and tours internationally with a diverse roster of artists.
