Julian Lee — Vibraphone

Julian Lee is a 15 year old bandleader and multi-instrumentalist whose commanding maturity on the vibraphone marks him as a rising star well ahead of his time. Though versatile on piano, drums and bass, Julian's primary voice is the vibraphone, a talent that has earned him the "Rising Star Spotlight" two years in a row at the COTA Jazz Festival and a featured spot at the Steve Weiss Mallet Festival for three consecutive years.

Deeply embedded in the Philadelphia jazz community, he performs on vibes with the Philadelphia Youth Jazz Orchestra under Justin Faulkner, the Helen K. Schwartz Advanced Settlement Scholarship Ensemble under Tony Miceli, and the Wheeler Settlement Advanced Jazz Ensemble on bass.

Despite his young career, Julian has already shared the stage with jazz luminaries like Adam Nussbaum, Tony Miceli, Paul Rostock, Dave Roth, Chris Oatts, Tim Brey and Lee Smith, bringing his distinct sound to renowned venues and festivals including the Rochester International Jazz Festival, Chris' Jazz Cafe, the Barnes Foundation, the historic Deer Head Inn, The Lafayette Bar, Germantown Jazz Festival, Berks Jazz Fest, and Kennett Jazz Fest. Julian Lee is establishing himself as one of the most exciting young voices in jazz today.
