Experience over 80 musicians performing at more than 20 venues across downtown Scranton during the free community Jazz Walk. Jazz, food, and spirits — the ultimate summer celebration. The Jazz Walk runs Friday and Saturday, August 7–8, 2026, with free trolley service between venues 6:00pm–10:00pm both nights.

The legendary Dirty Dozen Brass Band brings their genre-defying blend of New Orleans brass, funk, bebop, and R&B to the Theater at North as a headline performance of the 21st Annual Scranton Jazz Festival.

On Saturday, August 8, Iron Horse Society and the Scranton Jazz Festival partner for a one-day-only rail experience: the Jazz Train. Departing from Steamtown's boarding platform, a vintage steam train makes a scenic run to Nay Aug Park and back. Along the way, enjoy an acoustic jazz set from Mike Kuehn & The PA Jazz Society featuring Drew Nugent and Johnny Peppers on banjo, trumpet, and bass saxophone. No amps, no backing tracks — just three musicians, a moving train, and the open air. Ride in the band's car for the full live experience, or enjoy their sound through the train's PA system from any seat. Five departures throughout the day. Ticket proceeds support Iron Horse Society and Steamtown.

Enjoy live jazz with brunch at participating downtown Scranton restaurants: Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel, Hilton Scranton, Posh, Bartari, and A'Tera — with more venues coming soon. Cost of brunch is paid directly to the restaurant.

The festival closes with a special evening at the Scranton Cultural Center featuring the PA Jazz Institute @ MU Student Ensemble, followed by the SJF Big Band with special guest, the legendary bassist Ron Carter.
